Sport dans la Ville's youngsters discover London!

For the fourth year running, the Ile-de-France branch of the Sport dans la Ville charity enabled ten young beneficiaries of the Job dans la Ville vocational guidance and integration programme to discover the English capital.

The programme included cultural visits organised by and for the young people in order to promote their independence: fun activities to ensure full immersion in London life, coupled with professional meetings in the form of visits to three partner companies, including an AccorHotels establishment.

A week away from being restful for the lucky few beneficiaries, aged 14 to 18, selected "on merit" by the coaching teams of Sport dans la Ville. The association assists young people from priority neighborhoods in their social and professional integration through the practice of sport.

Among the partner companies visited, the young people were welcomed by the Novotel London West teams. They discovered the history of the Group as well as the various key departments of a hotel such as catering, events and hospitality.

"Just like last year, it was a pleasure to host the Sport dans la Ville young visitors. We are delighted to share with them our passion and the potential of our industry and our services... and maybe have aroused some vocations! I think that this exchange with Sport dans la Ville  is a very enriching experience for both the young visitors and the hotel staff who were proud to share their professional experience and their different backgrounds" says Céline Neveu, Human Resources Deleguate at Novotel London West.

Finally, the young people were able to discover the most famous places of UK's capital: the banks of the Thames River, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Camden Town ... but also the famous museum of Madame Tussaud. In the evening, they had the chance to attend the famous musical The Lion King, Akuna Matata!

This immersion week has allowed young people to broaden their horizons: to discover a new culture is to bet on open-mindness, but also a new step on the path towards independence. The AccorHotels teams were delighted to be able to join this week and strengthen the existing relationship with the association.
